The grinder pump utilizing 2 stage design has allowed engineers to expand their designs for the low pressure sewer projects, allowing higher discharge heads that exceed present day designs of the progressive cavity units, but more important the 2 stage centrifugal design offers higher scrubbing velocities, so necessary for efficient movement of the masserated solids in the effluent which causes frequent line clogging. This related to lowering operation and maintanence costs, which is so overlooked in project initial concept. In early 2005, the 2 HP. 115 volt single phase pump grinder pump was developed that worked has now been immitaed by other pump companies in so short a time span.
